Just across the lawn, Petite by Matilda (Matilda’s ‘younger sister’ store) beckons with vibrant and fresh salads, sandwiches and sweets to add quality to your takeaway moments.

Our Journey
Jacinta Price, the owner of Matilda Mont Albert, has always had a vision to open a cafe. After two years of travel through Europe, Jacinta found inspiration for what Matilda and Petite are today. Working in all areas of a cafe, Jacinta was familiar with all the skills it takes to produce a quality menu, service, and coffee. Putting this all forward, with years of hospitality experience, Jacinta curated a diverse, amazing team of people who make it what it is today.
In 2021, Matilda Mont Albert opened, serving sandwiches, bagels, and home-style cakes to the welcoming community of Mont Albert North. Soon, the café became a regular meeting point for friends, family, travellers, and colleagues alike. On Arcade Rd, through all seasons, we gathered over Small Batch coffee and homely dishes. The menu grew, showcasing cafe-owner Jacinta’s distinctive attention to fresh and seasonal foods.
Featured in Broadsheet, The Age, and Ceres Life, the café soon needed to expand its kitchen. This was when Petite by Matilda was born. With its arched windows, dappled light, and European-inspired charm, Petite welcomed our takeaway patrons. Hosting a now expanded kitchen, Matilda and Petite began offering baked goods and catering, prepared lovingly in-house for events. From backyard birthdays to corporate events, our cakes and catering bring joy to every occasion - making hosting effortless.
